The 4th Annual Clarkson Eyecare Foundation 5K Run/Walk held on May 2, 2010, attracted 218 runners and walkers. The event was one of many to come, including the 5th Annual Run/Walk to be held on date to be determined. The event included designer sunglasses as prizes and a live broadcast from Y98, a Sparkle the Clown, a stiltwalker and Fred Bird of the St. Louis Cardinals. All proceeds benefited the Clarkson Eyecare Foundation. The 5K journey around Forest Park of St. Louis raised funds essential to improving on the many programs of the Clarkson Eyecare Foundation.
The 6th Annual Bright Future Gala held on Saturday, November 21st gathered 484 guests and raised essential funds to expand on the foundation programs. The Black & White Night of Sight theme proved to be the perfect touch to the event, providing Pick A Star and the best possible venue to tie it all together, the Kemp Auto Museum. Guests gathered to hear Craig Doiron, President and Bill Jehling, Founder speak and bid on the live auction items and silent items from guest emcee Rene Knott of KSDK News Channel Five. An incredible video of all of the amazing programs the foundation provides played on the big screen, as guests watched in awe. The Visionary Award was presented to Dr. Joseph Olk of the Retina Center for all of the many contributions he has made to the foundation.
Judy Jehling and Gladys Stannard received the Outstanding Service Award for the great work they do at the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club-Adams Park.
The 7th Annual Bright Future Gala will be held on November 21, 2009.
